Braida winery

Giacomo Bologna was Braida's founder - and the winery still is an expression of his personality, his way of understanding wine, life and people. Giacomo made happiness his reason for living, conviviality a profession of faith, and with his exuberance he converted thousands of people to the pleasures of wine. Real wine.

Giacomo was a true son of his earth and always believed deeply in the potential of the Piemonte territory and its vineyards. He insisted that the hills of Rocchetta Tanaro and Barbera wine had no reason to envy the hills of Burgundy or a Pinot Noir when it came to class and quality. And he was right. He imposed the strictest of selection during the harvest and created single vineyard denomination for his vines. Giacomo was the first to realize that Barbera and small oak barrels would make a 'love-match'.

The Braida winery has now been completely modernized, the cellar equipped with all of the most advanced technologies so that we can transform our grapes into the best possible wines. But our approach to wine hasn't changed a bit, it is exactly the same as what we inherited from Giacomo. It may be true that you make wine with your head, with technique. But you make great wine with your heart.
